What a week!

First was my birthday stuff at the beginning of the week, over Sunday and Monday. My family and I had a quiet little celebration involving a pinata shaped like a cupcake. Inside were cookies and a jump rope. The neatest thing I got was a car.

I don't work at the preschool anymore, since that only was for the duration of the semester. The only work I had this week was at the library. It was neat to go on campus and see all the people studying, and not studying like them for once. All my "traditional" finals were over, and the past semester was all just clinicals.

It was also neat to go on campus and realize I wouldn't have to go there for much longer. My job at the library ends on May 15th. After that, I have no reason to go on campus anymore. Why?

GRADUATION! THAT'S WHY!

I graduated on Saturday, May 4th with my Masters of Science Degree in Speech-Language Pathology. It took 5 years in this major, and grad school, and madness, and a few mental breakdowns.... and finally I'm done with college forever.

Now I get to make job-hunting my full-time job, yay. I've had a few interviews and follow-ups so I'm not too worried. I do need to get a full time job pretty soon though, before my window of getting a temporary license in my state still exists.

Side note -- it is SUCH A JOY to maneuver all the paperwork and attachments required to become certified and licensed at the district, state, and national levels. SUCH A JOY.

The graduation ceremony went well. It was shorter than normal. The guy who said all the names pronounced mine wrong, which is pretty normal. Afterwards we went to a lunch buffet and they had all sorts of sweets. They even had cotton candy and gummy bears, which I consumed en masse. My meal was a large healthy salad and then tons of desserts, hahaha!

The day after, my boyfriend's family took me on a day trip to some botanical gardens. There's so many beautiful plants in the world; the thought makes me happy. I loved how some plants reminded me of where I lived before, in the North American Southwest. Other plants were so exotic and unbelievable in their unique structure and colors.

After the gardens, we ate at a Vietnamese restaurant where I got eggplant curry! It was tasty.

And a visit to the international market resulted in some delicious green tea ice cream balls. They're Japanese and called Mochi. They're the best ice cream in the world, maybe even tied in first place with fudgesicles.

That was my week and weekend. Today, oh today tops all. Today I am going to have fun. ...I'm having a wisdom tooth taken out.

I only hope I look that serene and starry-eyed.
