melluransaMy puppy Lucas is such a wonderful doggie. He's quiet and very nervous sometimes, but other times he bounds with energy. When he's energetic, I joke that he must be part kangaroo. We don't know what type of dog breed he is, but for how much he follows his nose I think he's part hound or tracking dog.
We've had Lucas since he was a puppy. He was found on the side of the road, and asking around town we learned he was from this one house where they have too many dogs and don't take care of any of them. They probably didn't even notice he was gone. He slept on my brother's lap all the way home.
After we survived the terrible puppy-months (excessive chewing, peeing, hyperness), he grew up and calmed down. He's usually pretty mellow and cheerful, and also nervous sometimes. Storms scare him. When Chester was alive, Chester would intimidate him and scare him too.
Lucas doesn't seem to be getting any bigger. He's quite small and only weighs around 30 pounds. He makes up for his size in jumping height. One time I was standing and eating a sandwich, and he jumped up so high and stole the bologna right out of the sandwich! I was left holding two pieces of bread, dumbfounded.
